True ecology versus the ecology of 'useful idiots'. Attention: this is the 'introduction' to a series of articles dealing with 'ecological' topics that will be published on this blog. The West – the countries of the European Union and those associated with it, Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea. Global South – the other countries on Earth.
Fable
Imagine a family - it doesn't matter if it's straight or gay, it's the same for us - consisting of two parents and a 17-year-old child. Each member brings money into the house, including the teenager (from babysitting, dog walking, doing small favors for elderly neighbors). All the money is in a joint account, from where everyone takes as much as they want for their own expenses. At the end of each month, the account is in the 'minus'. The adult who earns most of the money decides to save. At the beginning, the joint account switches to 'plus'. Unfortunately, very quickly, the account goes back to 'minus', because the other family members increase their own expenses. There is only one solution: everyone must reduce their expenses to put the account back on 'plus'.
Translation of the fable
The 'adult' who earns the most is the West; the other two members of the family are the Global South. The 'common account' is our world, our planet, Terra. 'Money' is what we do to protect the environment. The 'costs' are our actions that harm the environment: pollution, destruction of nature.
What is happening in the world today
The West imposes on itself increasingly strict ecological norms and applies them. There are some countries that apply them strictly, others that apply them less strictly. There are countries that apply them immediately and others that do so late. There are cases where a few steps back are also taken. In short, not all countries act the same. But even the countries that do the least in this area, generally apply the ecological rules. On the contrary, in general the Global South does NOT apply ecological norms. There is 'diversity' in the case of the Global South, enormous differences between the countries that make up its composition. We find countries that do not respect any ecological norms and do not hesitate to show total contempt for them. There are 'gimmicks' who claim to follow them but in reality, do nothing. There are the 'smart guys' who say they want to respect them, but they need money for it. Money for the West to give him. Money to enrich those in power and their cronies, of course. And we also have countries that apply them, but to a rather reduced extent, though.
Stop getting drunk on water!
If the West respects the environment, but the Global South does not, global warming and climate change will not stop, they will not disappear. Those who believe this are naive, stupid. And in the event of a catastrophe, they are the ones who will suffer the most. What to do? Should we give up ecology, stop working to protect the environment? Not! Not! Not! Never. But we have to do it in a smart way, to do the real ecology. What does true ecology mean? Three essential objectives must be achieved: 1) To use, buy and consume only what is created, produced and/or cultivated (with the exception of fruits and vegetables that grow only in certain areas) in Romania, in the European Union or, at most, in the West; 2) States must make maximum efforts to return to Romania, the European Union or, at most, the West, the production of goods that, today, are manufactured only in the global South; 3) The states that make up the 'West' must take extremely strong measures to force the countries of the Global South to apply the same ecological norms. Those who consider themselves 'ecologists' should make propaganda in this sense; 4) Those who consider themselves 'ecologists' should work, first and foremost, to achieve the above objectives. To convince the countries that make up the Global South, the West must use the 'carrot/prize/stick' formula. Less 'carrot' and more 'stick', unfortunately. Why so? Because, for the most part, the countries of the Global South are not democratic states, and their leaders do not listen to arguments other than those of force. Those who believe otherwise are nothing but naive. There are so many parties, associations, celebrities, businesses in the West that work to impose increasingly strict environmental protection measures. But if they do not act to achieve the objectives stated above, they are nothing more than 'useful idiots'. They are directly or more often, indirectly, directed by 'agents of influence'.
Dictionary
The expression "useful idiots" defines those who, in politics, apply measures that apparently go in the direction they want, but move away from it. They are well-intentioned but naive and are being used or manipulated to serve interests other than their own.' (Wikipedia). 'Agent of influence' is a person who works for a foreign power to promote its interests. (Wikipedia).

We will regularly publish articles showing you how 'useful idiots' are trying to convince us to change our habits and traditions and adopt new, more 'green' ones. Some are, of course, necessary to protect the environment. Unfortunately, as long as 'the others' do not do the same, the result of our efforts is ZERO. The first article in the series: 'Electric cars – the big "hoax"'.
